Privacy & cookies
This page explains the information used when you read our guides or ask a question.
About this site
Darshan Routes is an independent family pilgrimage and heritage guide. You can read our guides without creating an account. Our hosting service processes technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details and requested page, to deliver and protect the website.
Audience measurement
We use Google Analytics on our guide pages to understand visits, pages read, device types and broad traffic sources. Google Analytics can use cookies and process information about your browser and activity on this site. We do not include Google Analytics on the visitor question or owner management pages.
You can control cookies through your browser, use content blocking tools or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Browser controls can affect how other sites work too.
Advertising
We are preparing Google AdSense for selected completed guides. Advertising is currently disabled: this site does not load the AdSense ad script or request ads.
When advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage and identifiers, together with information such as IP address, device details and browsing activity, to deliver, measure and personalize ads. Google’s use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, our advertising setup requires a published Google consent message before activation. That message provides choices about relevant data uses. Where shown, use the privacy and cookie settings link provided by Google to revisit your choice. Rejecting personalization does not necessarily remove all advertising.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s advertising policy. You can also manage personalization through Google My Ad Center.
Questions and published answers
Our question service asks for a question, topic and optional nickname, without requesting a visitor email address. When submissions are open, these details and the reply are stored to run the service. Questions remain private until reviewed and published with an answer. The owner receives a notification without the question text. We may shorten submissions or remove private details before publication.
Short-lived hashed request identifiers help limit spam. A private status link allows access to your submission’s status and text; keep it private. Do not include contact details, booking references or sensitive information in a question. Owner sign-in uses a session cookie to protect the management area.
Question submissions are currently closed. The temple visit FAQs and our published trip guides remain available to read.
Other websites and updates
Links to temple authorities, booking providers and other websites open services with their own privacy practices. Review their notices before sharing personal information. We update this page when the services used by Darshan Routes change.
