Before you go
Plan your visit: practical questions answered
Our October 2026 visit used a temporary darshan location a few minutes from the main temple. Confirm the current location before following our visit account.
Location
Aundha Nagnath, Hingoli district, Maharashtra.
Rail and road approach
Hingoli district identifies Hingoli and Parbhani as rail approaches, with an onward road journey.
Our timing
Afternoon after Ambajogai and Parli Vaijnath, returning to the same Parli hotel that night.
Our ritual payment
Approximately ₹1,200 for Rudrabhishek, as remembered from October 2026.
How can I reach Aundha Nagnath by train?
Hingoli district lists Hingoli and Parbhani as rail approaches. Its road references put the temple about 24 km from Hingoli and 56 km from Parbhani. Check your train service and onward bus or taxi before booking; these distances do not establish the transfer time.
Was darshan at the main Aundha temple during our visit?
Our October 2026 account describes a temporary arrangement at another location a few minutes away. It does not establish where darshan takes place today. Ask temple staff for the present arrangement, especially before arranging transport for someone with limited mobility.
How much did our Aundha Rudrabhishek cost?
About ₹1,100 was initially discussed and about ₹1,200 was quoted after the ritual; we remember paying approximately ₹1,200. This is our historical payment, not an official tariff. Agree the complete amount before starting, including any materials or additional offerings.
Why we visited
Aundha Nagnath was one of the temples on our Maharashtra Jyotirlinga route. We visited as a family and performed Rudrabhishek.
Our afternoon arrival
First-hand journeyOur October 2026 experience
We reached Aundha Nagnath in the afternoon after Ambajogai and Parli Vaijnath. It was not very crowded during our visit, and the temple felt relatively far from the main city and tourist centres. After Abhishek we returned to the same hotel in Parli for a second night.
A temporary arrangement during our visit
First-hand journeyOur October 2026 experience
A temporary arrangement during our October 2026 visit meant that the Shivling used for darshan and Abhishek was at another location, only a few minutes’ walk from the main Nagnath temple. This describes our visit, not the current arrangement.
Our photographs from Aundha include the temple-complex entrance and a flower-decorated Shivling beneath a hanging vessel. We retain the October 2026 date in the caption because this arrangement should not be read as current guidance.
One of our Aundha photographs from the visit when the usual darshan arrangement had temporarily changed.
The nearby temple we also visited
First-hand journeyOur October 2026 experience
We also visited an old nearby temple that we understood to be ancient. It contained another Shivling that appeared similar in size and form to us; we have not established that temple’s historical identity.
The similarity was our visual impression. We are not assigning that temple a name, historical date or religious identity that we cannot establish.
Rudrabhishek and what we paid
First-hand journeyOur October 2026 experience
We performed Rudrabhishek. Around ₹1,100 was initially discussed; the priest quoted about ₹1,200 after the ritual. We paid about ₹1,200 during our October 2026 visit.
